Yes. Our TDLR-approved Teen Driver's Ed is fully online and available to any student in TX and across Texas. In-person options are available at our DFW branches.
Teens must be at least 14 years old to begin a driver's education course in Texas. They can apply for a learner's permit after completing 6 hours of instruction.
Parent-Taught Driver's Ed (PTDE) allows a parent or guardian to teach their teen using a TDLR-approved curriculum. Drive Safe's online PTDE course starts at $39.95 and includes all required materials.
Complete a 6-hour online course to get your DE-964 learner's certificate, then finish 18 more hours online for your DE-964 driver's ed certificate. Behind the wheel, teens log 7 hours of observation, 7 hours with an instructor, and 30 hours of parent-supervised driving.
